Childhood

They said boys and girls can't be best friends... they sure don't remember childhood. Try and keep that innocence and your life will become much more pleasant to live. 

Dizem que meninos e meninas não podem ser melhores amigos... certamente esqueceram da infância. Tente manter a inocência de outrora e verás como a vida torna-se muito mais prazerosa de se viver.

There's much more to this

There's much more to this world than just you or me. Much more than our problems, our pleasure, our doubts, our fears and dreams... there's us, there's it. Us men, women, children, elders: humans. The world, its nature, fauna, flora, minerals, dirt, sky, the universe...life itself. Living without this awareness is not living at all: it's only existing. When you take time to  wonder and thank for Life's wonders you trully deserve to live it.


Existe muito mais coisas no mundo do que apenas você e eu. Muito mais do que nossos problemas, nossos prazeres, nossas dúvidas, medos e sonhos... tem nós, tem isso. Nós homens, mulheres, crianças, idosos: humanos. O mundo, a natureza,fauna, flora, minerais, terra, céu, universo... a vida em si. Viver sem estar ciente desse fato é simplesmente não viver: é apenas existir. Quando encontras tempo para  se maravilhar e agradecer pelas maravilhas da Vida, você torna-se merecedor de vivê-la.

First try at the gender

One of these days went for a walk around my neighborhood and decided to take my camera with me for the first time. I walked by a skate ramp and saw this little boy doing these cute stunts while his mother cheered him up and motived him to try more challenging stunts. Detail: the ramp was by the top of the hill. After asking for permition I took a couple of photos. This one above was the first one, so it´s my trial for artistic urban photography.

Um dia desses fui caminhar pelo meu bairro e decidi, pela primeira vez, levar minha câmera comigo. Passei por uma pista de skate e me deparei com um garotinho fazendo fofas manobras skate enquanto sua mãe vibrava e o insentivava a tentar manobras mai desafiadoras. Detalhe: a rampa ficava no topo de um morro. Após pedir permissão, comecei a fotografá-lo e essa foto acima é uma das minhas primeiras tentativas de fotos urbanas artísticas.

Hoshi - act of unconditional love

Hoshi - volunteering. According with the dictionary, the meaning is " To perform or offer to perform a service of one's own free will.", but for me it is sharing your unconditional love without expectation. This photo shows a child whose family practices the hoshi. It´s one of the happiest families I´ve known of. Even without expectations, we get what we give..I truly believe that. Hoshi - Voluntariado. De acordo com o dicionário, o significado é " realizar ou oferecer seus serviços de própria vontade". Para mim, é muito mais que isso, voluntariar é compartilhar nosso amor incondicional sem esperar retorno. Essa foto mostra uma criança cuja família pratica o hoshi. É uma das famílias mais felizes que já conheci. Mesmo sem expectativas, recebemos o que damos..eu realmente acredito nisso. Little china doll

I just LOVE this photo.  I was this cutie's au pair in India for 6 months in 2007. The family had a nice Nikon D"something" (I had no idea about camera types that time..lol) and I used to use it and abused it...and "Stelluxa" was my favorite subject. Little china doll, isn´t she?

Eu AMO essa foto! Eu fui au pair dessa fofura na India por 6 meses em 2007. A familia possuia uma Nikon D"sei la o que" ( nem tinha idéia dos tipos de câmeras na epoca..risos) da qual eu usava e abusava..e a "Stelluxa" era minha modelo favorita. Não parece uma bonequinha de porcelana?

Fun by the sun

After months without the pool (it was leaking), a nice and long diving seems heaven for a kid. It was a cloudy and very fresh day, but look at her face..did she care? No more than I would when I was her age.

Após meses sem piscina (vazando), um bom e longo mergulho se compara ao paraíso para uma criança. O tempo estava nublado e meio frio, mas olha bem para o rosto dela.. ela ligou para isso? Não mais do que eu me importava quando era da idade dela.

Born to love ourselves

Reflexions are simple yet adorable.No one can resist looking at his/her own reflexion without wondering..do I look great? Karol´s face expression on the window seems to reply her with a very satisfacting answer.

Reflexos são simples, porém adoráveis. Ninguém resiste em olhar seu próprio reflexo e perguntar-se.. Será que eu estou maravilhoso? O reflexo do rosto da Karol no vidro da janela parece respondê-la satisfatoriamente.
